“When my home was claimed by fire last year, Red Cross volunteers were among the first on-site,” Adkins said. “They looked after my family when I couldn’t be there and offered help. We were fortunate because we could replace the things we lost but that’s not always the case for every disaster victim. That’s when the Red Cross steps in. I am supporting the mission of the Red Cross and hope to help them reach more people in need,” Adkins said.
There you have it, the start of his Red Cross story, but it doesn’t stop there. Trace is competing this year on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice with “The Donald” and his charity of choice? Why the Red Cross, of course! Trace is one of two finalists, and all of us Red Cross lovers can help him to win.
As part of the show’s final challenge, the remaining two contestants have developed custom ice cream flavors for Walgreens “Good and Delish” ice cream brand. Sales of the ice cream this week at Walgreens stores will figure into the decision about who will be show’s winner. And, the contestant with the best selling flavor gets an extra $100,000 for his charity. Yes-this means you can help earn $100,000 for the Red Cross by eating ice cream! Could it get any better?? Last night, our dinner was topped off with Trace’s ice cream, Maple Macadamia Mash Up, and believe you me, it was definitely good AND delish!
